French’s Opera House is built.

Built by local businessman Leroy French, it is located in the rebuilt French’s Block building at 45 Fairmount Avenue. The 700-seat auditorium is located on the third floor. It is used for vaudeville and minstrel shows, becomes the Masonic Temple of Hyde Park and Masonic Hall from 1916 to 1977, and becomes home to the Riverside Theatre Works in 1983.
